This main floor remodel was such an amazing project. The homeowners had lived in the home for 20 plus years and they were ready to make the floor plan more open like new construction without having to move. So we removed the two sided fireplace that split the living room and the hearth room. Flipped the fireplace to the opposite end of the house in order to create a larger living room that was more casual. We then slide the breakfast nook down to where the original hearth room was and placed it in front of the slider out to the deck. Next, we made the kitchen much larger allowing us to incorporate a large island for 4. This was accomplished by pulling it up into what was the breakfast nook space and that allowed us to have enough space to put a butlers pantry behind the new kitchen in what was the old kitchen space. The butlers pantry now houses a full oven as well as a beverage drawers. And makes a great place for the coffee station and small appliances like the toaster that you dont want out on your main counters all the time. We refinished and add wood flooring throughout the main floor. We did the stairs with hardwood treads and white risers. We enclosed the original dining room to become a new home office with custom french doors from the entry side. Mans update the laundry room that is behind the office off the new kitchen. The colors of this remodel are so subtle and neutral that it was fun to pick a pop of navy and orange that played perfectly with the dark and neutral grays.
