Rustic
Revival Kitchen
We’re so in love with how this turned out, we’re not even sure where to begin describing this kitchen transformation. The owners had lived with a frustrating lack of flow and storage for what felt like eons, and we were ready to take it to the next level for them.
With every new project, we prioritize our clients’ needs while honoring the home’s existing character. Our design team poured themselves into every detail—and wow, did they nail modernizing the rustic aesthetic here.
The kitchen’s design blends deep black tones with white oak, creating a striking harmony between bold contrast and natural warmth. White oak’s linear grain and cooler undertones make it a perfect match for contemporary palettes, while Iron Ore–clad elements like the island, hood, and bar provide sculptural definition and a mineral-rich edge that anchors the space.
The pantry kept its original footprint but was completely reimagined with a cabinet-matched exterior and packed with thoughtful, personalized storage solutions. The island was also optimized with minimal changes to fixtures and finishes, preserving its central role in the layout.
Our designer envisioned a bar area that would bring the entire space together—and its visual impact can’t be overstated. The materials and tones used throughout the kitchen find their most cohesive expression here. Soft veining in the large-format backsplash tile adds a timeless yet on-trend elegance, while the smooth surface and extended height make cleanup effortless—perfect for both everyday living and entertaining.
To complete the vision, a creamy backsplash offers subtle texture without distraction, allowing the contrast of black and white oak to shine. Seamlessly integrated task lighting—tucked beneath shelves, cabinetry, and within glass-fronted cabinets and the pantry—enhances function without disrupting the design. Overhead, modern decorative fixtures act as striking counterpoints, balancing rustic materiality with contemporary clarity.
