It's not everyday that a client asks you to design a basement to feel like a library but also a nice media tv space for the family.  They wanted to create different spaces in the basement for different purposes that all go together.  When you first walk down the stairs you step into a small seating area with a small bar sink and cabinets, built in under the stairs is the wine fridge.  So this area is perfect for opening a bottle of wine and reading a book.  As you turn in the space you see the media area where the tv is placed on the wall surrounded by bookcases and backdropped by a white oak panel.  Then further down into the space is a cozy nook perfect for a velvet loveseat to be placed and two wall sconces perfect for reading.  This space is also surrounded by bookcases all of which are painted in a deep navy.  Across from the cozy nook is a full bath and backdropped by the nook is a true full office with french doors.  The homeowners wanted to have the space as a home office however for resale it can be a bedroom since it has a closet and an egress window to code.
