Bliss
To bring the space into this century new floors and lighting were an absolute must. First the design team nailed a classic contemporary pallet focusing on bright neutral colors, caramels, and SW Iron Ore. Lighting and hardware updates are modernized in matte black but with touches of glass they showcase traditional forms for a transitional touch. Lighting was replaced throughout the entire main floor for a cohesive flow.
A new white oak hood was exactly what the designer ordered to create a focal point on the back stove wall of the kitchen; there had been two wall cabinets on either side of an elaborate hood over the range, however the hood was too traditional and the cabinets were too small to be well-utilized. We determined alongside the client that removing the cabinets had little effect on their overall storage, but the ultimate effect on the kitchen overall. The hood was meticulously crafted to be proportional to the wall it was featured on. Tile backsplash was replaced on the fridge and sink wall in Brickstone white and we used the same tile but in a herringbone pattern to create an eye-catching backdrop for our custom-built hood. To complete the kitchen facelift countertops were updated to a resilient quartz, and the island was rebuilt in a streamlined and matching shaker profile with updated features like a double trash pull-out and Blumotion soft-close drawers.
